How to prepare for industry with: Noah Klocek- Pixar Anna Dinse- Axis Andy Wyatt- Toon Boom -Pixar uses its own ‘Presco’ Software, thought is not to get hung up on perfecting you knowledge with the software but develop your understanding of the fundamentals and your skills in that area. -Axis will soon have an education area on their site which will help give advice on how to get a job after Uni/ education, and what you need to apply for jobs. -need to be disciplined to work your ass off. -GET INSPIRED -Don’t blend in with the crowd, make your work stand out and be unique -When presenting your work, show the thorough development- the Volume of failed attempts leading to you success is good to show employers. -you need a tonne of passion and a unique view of the world, Curiosity and embrace something new- what recruiting people look for. -adapt what you show in your portfolio to where your applying to. -Apply for mentors and networking internships. -continuingly educate yourself even at work -learn how to be a good leader facilitate the group and get the best idea and respect ideas which you may not 100% support. -ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS -Try to do something different -Try other ways around certain tasks -Explore- find yourself -Explore something tedious which helps you appreciate what you love -ROUTINE!! -Dedicate time to do work even if its just to sit and think.
